Gourock Park Open Day
11th May 2008

This year's Open Day was a fantastic success at Gourock Park. Brilliant warm sunshine made conditions just perfect for the hundreds of visitors that attended. The events put on especially for the day all went down well, with the bottle stall, target bowls and this year's new 'Beat the Goalie' being especially popular for the majority of the day.
In the kitchen the Gourock Park Ladies were inundated with requests for home made soup, baking, hamburgers, slice rolls and endless cups of tea and coffee. Busiest place of all was the bar, with a steady stream of thirsty customers ensuring that the bar staff were rushed off their feet all day. Trade was so good at the bar that several times someone was sent out to bring in more supplies from the nearest stockist.
By 6pm with the bar now well and truly closed there were still many visitors both inside and outside just taking things easy and enjoying the fabulous atmosphere and sounds that were coming from the nearby Highland games.
Overall I am sure that everyone would have enjoyed the hospitality of the Club and will back at next year's open day. Well done to everyone at the club who contributed to making the day go so well, but special praise to the Bar Staff, the Ladies in the Kitchen and to Kyle Ellis and Michael Monkhouse, who done a great job in ensuring that the beat the goalie was a fund raiser, with their eagerness to make sure the ball stayed out of the goal.
Close! but not close enough to win a prize!
Prizes galore on the target bowls.
He shoots!   and its another save from Kyle
Standing room only!  The Club was busy throughout the day
The target bowls attracted players off all ages, eager to claim a prize

16th May 2008
The Gourock Park versus Gourock Seniors friendly resulted in a victory for Gourock Park. The shots score was 65 to 35 with 'The Park' winning all of the points.  Gourock however were a few men short of a full team and their team was made up by a couple of last minute replacements from Gourock Park. The weather was great and everyone enjoyed the afternoon's play.

During the rounds I will be travelling around the district so please contact me via the mobile if you have problems.
