The SWBA District Finals were held on Ardgowan on Sunday 6th June, Gourock Park's Junior Player, Stacy Lungley won against a Neilston player to secure her place at Ayr for the third year running. Also winning were Irene Ritchie, Nancy Hawthorn and Norma Ramsay in the Triples final. Our Pairs unfortunately lost out. Still "Two out of three is not bad" Good luck to the Girls for the National Finals at Ayr in August.
Meanwhile, the Men got their Scottish Titles hunt underway, also on Sunday, and all but one team have survived the early rounds to reach next Sunday's Quarter-Finals. That means we are represented by 2 Junior Singles, Pairs, Triples, Fours and 2 Senior Fours, Good luck to them all for Sunday's games.
Nancy, Norma & Irene are all smiles after their victory and on the right, Carol and Yvonne are still able to raise a smile, despite defeat. I did not get a picture of Stacy as she left earlier than I expected.
More pictures of this event are on our Facebook page and I will also add them to my personal Flicker site soon.

Gourock Park Banned from Lady Alice Competitions?
This could be a headline of the future following yet another Gourock Park winner and runners-up in Lady Alice's Open Competitions. The recent St Andrews Ambulance Triples title was claimed by Irene Gillies, Maureen McKillop and Carol McMonagle of Gourock Park they defeated Cathy Morrow, Yvonne Johnstone and Christine Nettleton, also of Gourock Park in the Final. Earlier this year, two other 'Open's at Lady Alice were also dominated by Gourock Park and its proving to be a happy hunting ground for the Men, Boys, Girls and Ladies of Gourock Park.

Congratulations to Port Glasgow on winning the G&D Top Ten with a 6 v 2 Victory over Gourock Park at Parklea. I have no report or pictures from the event as was only there for the last 3 or 4 ends, due to attending IRH to visit my Girlfriend, who was rushed into casualty on early Tuesday morning. I am sure you will understand that if my web updates are missing or slow to appear, I may just have more important concerns to deal with.
Some of you will know that I have had a few issues with my PC recently and had to re-install everything again from scratch, which took a long time, Thankfully I have now got things back to almost normal, although have lost some of my bowling records, pictures, videos and programs that I use to produce this site.
Okay! Thats the bad news out of the way, well maybe the Top Ten shouldnt be grouped with the bad news? Or then again maybe it should! You decide.? Good news for the Port anyway, thats all that matters.
Heard tonight that Stacy Lungley's grip on the Gourock Park Championship has gone, after she went down to Norma Ramsay this evening. Norma will now play either Carol McMonagle or Yvonne Johnstone in the Semi-Final.
This Saturday is 'Fun Night' at the Park. Its a bring your own food and drink night and should be an enjoyable night
I have not updated the RBA Page yet with last friday's results, but I do know that Wellington's Junior Singles,Fours and Under 45's have all reached the Finals. At time of writing I am probably not going to be able to report on the Finals but I wish all the Finalists good luck.
Gourock Park's most talented young player, John Reid, was recently selected for a Scotland under 25's trial and played in this on Sunday 20th. Young John has a fantastic talent for the game and already features in League games for Gourock Park and I hope he is selected to play for the U25's as he would be a worthy addition.
Gourock Park is pleased to announce that Chows Chinese Takeaway has become our League sponsor. The food outlet in Inverkip Road, Greenock, will have its banner displayed at our home league games.
Port Glasgow's Peter Johnstone was presented with his 50th County Cap recently.
